2020 Ross' Cherry Rd Red
In addition to being one of our most popular wines, as part of our "Limited Release" series, it is also a red that is uniquely different from the other red wines, with a smoth and soft body, along with hints of Coco and Leather on the palate, and all wrppaed up with that signature Twisted Roots "fruit" on the finish. Our base for this wine is Ross' Syrah, which unlike our famous Petite Sirah, contributes to the new flavors that we are excited to share with all of you. We hope that you enjoy this unique wine, for all of its flavor and complexity, but also in honor of Ross' and his passion for being a farmer of great wine grapes. Cheers!
Back by Popular Demand! Our first, and only Rhone Style Red Blend....In honor of our Founding Partner, Ross Schmiedt, we excited to release our second vintage of Ross' Cherry Road Red.
This is the first red blend in the Twisted Roots line up, made up of the follow grapes, 85% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Sirah. Ross, Julie's Uncle, and our beloved grower of all the Twisted Roots Estate grapes, always wanted Josh to make a wine out of the Syrah grapes that the family grew, but because Josh’s passion was Petite Sirah, he didn’t know how to fit it in. Then, after Ross was diagnosed with ALS, Josh wanted to honor him, and say Thank You for helping him get into the wine business, as Josh’s original partner, and that is how this wine came about. Because of the Syrah, you will taste soft fruit, like strawberry, with just a hint of tart blackberry in the finish. The wine finished with notes of chocolate and leather or tobacco. Overall, this is a very soft, subtle wine, that is light bodied, and light on tannins and harshness, very smooth, easy drinking.
